The initial idea

The concept for Huntee was introduced to me by Martin Cach, an HR specialist dedicated to promoting equality in the job market for both job seekers and HR professionals. Initially, Martin intended to tackle the UX design independently after receiving high-cost proposals from various UX designers and app development agencies.

Collaboration and Design Process

We collaborated on the original wireframes, and I was impressed by the concept and the research underpinning it. This inspired me to assist in refining the project at a reduced cost. I revised the wireframes to create a streamlined process that reduced development expenses and minimized the user learning curve.

Recognizing the importance of strong development support, I recommended Ondrej Seliga, a meticulous developer with whom I had previously collaborated. Ondrej’s deep understanding of UX principles and commitment to accessible design greatly enhanced our efforts.

To facilitate efficient development, I established a simple design system powered by design tokens, ensuring the system would be easy to develop and maintain over time.

To ensure our design is easy to use and offers everything our users might need, we run usability testing and interviews with Job seeker users and HR users. Based on the feedback we have updated the filtering options and streamlined the onboarding process.

Objectives

  • Enhanced equality: Create a space where job seekers stand equal with HR and get found because of the skills they have
  • Streamlined process: Onboarding is a part of the CV editor which makes the process faster and the learning curve shorter
  • Aesthetics and Accessibility: Make the CVs look professional, clean and easy to read to enhance the job seekers’ qualities

Key Features

  • Anonymisation: HRs are not able to choose based on name or looks, they commit based on skills they seek
  • HR structure: The CV editor was created in cooperation with HR to suit their needs and optimize a quick search for candidates
  • Design Customisation: Huntee provides users with predefined options to create their CV the way they like

Empowerment, Effectiveness and Professionality

  • Design Approach: The design concept is created as a versatile dashboard where users can move effectively and intuitively.
  • Colour: The client chose blue as a main brand color to evoke a sense of calm, trust and balance.
  • Fonts: I selected the Rubik font as a brand font and additional fonts for the CV editor to offer customisation for the users.

Cost Efficiency

Thanks to the streamlined design system and onboarding process, we reduced the original cost to approximately 14% of the estimates provided by app development agencies. This outcome demonstrates the value of strategic design and collaboration in creating effective, affordable solutions.
